World Wetlands Day is celebrated every year on 2 February. This day marks the date of the adoption of the Convention on Wetlands on 2 February 1971, in the Iranian city of Ramsar. The theme for World Wetlands Day in 2016 is Wetlands for our Future: Sustainable Livelihoods.
To celebrate this day in the Bega Valley, there will be a free workshop at Panboola – Pambula Wetlands and Heritage Project called “Who’s Living on My Land”. Hear about the wildlife living in and around your wetland and learn to use a motion sensitive camera.
The workshop is on Tuesday 2 February from 10am-3.30pm. Bookings are essential by 29 January via Michael Andrews at mandrews@conservationvolunteers.com.au or 02 4228 9246 or 0427 826 484.
