Build Your Own Sugar Glider Nest Box

Sugar Gliders in Nest

Sugar Gliders in Nest

A CMN workshop to build your own Sugar Glider nest box will be held in Bega on Saturday 20 June 2015 from 10am – 4pm, led by local carpenter/builder Jo Saccomani.

If you are a landholder with suitable habitat and would like to encourage Sugar Gliders to live and breed on your property, you are invited to come and learn how to build a nest box. Your design can then be adapted at home to build nest boxes for other species.
Sugar Gliders are one of around 400 species of Australian fauna that use tree hollows. With the number of natural tree hollows declining,  supplementary hollows can be provided by installing nest boxes.
Encouraging Sugar Gliders onto your property can help with natural pest control. They are one of the principal predators of Christmas beetles which can swarm, defoliate and kill native plantings.
The workshop is free, with materials and lunch provided.
Spaces are limited. For bookings, please email or call 0417 246 896 by Monday 15 June.
