Tuesday 5th June is World Environment Day which is the United Nations Environment Program’s most important day for encouraging worldwide awareness and action for the protection of our environment. Since it began in 1974, it has grown to become a global platform for public outreach that is widely celebrated in over 100 countries.
Bournda Environmental Education Centre has been hosting an annual dinner to celebrate World Environment Day for the last 41 years.
The 2018 Guest Speaker is Dr Helen Smith and the focus is on how to assist people with mobility needs get connected to Nature. Helen is a passionate outdoor enthusiast and has a PhD in wildlife ecology. Helen has been working for several years on the “Naturally Accessible” project for the National Parks Association (NPA) of NSW.
The dinner is always a relaxing and enjoyable night and will be held at the Bega Valley Commemorative Civic Centre. Tickets are $50 each.
